Buggy beauty

This little guy is only 15mm long ( about an inch and a half) but Amahli was fascinated.... He managed to sit still long enough to have his portrait taken.
Im sure his mother will be pleased :)

Ive entered this in what Kim at Mom tried It calls a "Blog Hop".Basically, you can comment on my photo, what you would do to improve it, constructive critisism ( be kind) and then hop to another blog below and critique them too!

Cool idea :)

  1. Oh I am so excited to see you join in!!!
I love macro shots of bugs. The lighting is great and the tones are lovely. My only suggestion would be to bump up the aperture a tad so the whole bug is in focus and still have some neat bokeh.
    Completely wonderful shot.

  2. Wow, awesome shot! Such an interesting subject and I love the focus. I also like the way the leaf line mimics his body and draws the eye through the image. Only tiny thing is I wish his antennae were in focus too, but it's really a wonderful capture. Nice work!!!

  3. Yes, great macro shot. Love the color contrast and composition. I'm going to agree on seeing just a bit more of the wee guy and it'll be perfecto!
    Good job.

  4. I love the detail and color in this shot. The yellowish arcs in the background add a nice bit of composition. The little guy seems a little too centered to me. I might move him to follow the rule of thirds. It would also allow to crop a bit of the non-leaf from the lower right of the photo. Thanks for joining the photo feedback.

  5. Great to meet another Photo feedback participant! What a great shot this is. I love the green tones and the wonderful depth of field. Kim has a good idea though, the adjust the aperture so you could get more focus on the bug.
It's amazing how you can have such a sharp focus to a bug this tiny - love how you can even see the small details of the green leaf!
